I worked with them to develop their main site, http://www.ashoka.org/, and associated country sites using Drupal as the content management framework. The project involved migrating content from previous systems. Textual data needed to be converted to Unicode and character set collations needed to be set up to allow for proper sorting. This process included database administration, migration, and upgrades. Many content management system (CMS) modules had to be researched, installed, customized and configured. The largest of these sub-projects was Related Links. Much functionality was added and contributed back to the community, and now exists as part of the current version of the module. Other modules I worked with include the Quotes module. Site-specific development included custom web forms, custom content types (see Ashoka Fellows), e-mail spam harvesting protection and automatic searching when "Page Not Found" errors occur. Newsletter archives also had to be incorporated into Drupal.
